Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician The Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician is recognized as an expert in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care. He or she performs diagnoses and treatments of the full range of cases and problems encountered, in collaboration with other medical staff as appropriate. He or she may supervise and mentor students, medical students and residents, nurse practitioners, and. The incumbent is expected to become joint faculty with an affiliated university. The clinical duties of this position include serving as an attending pulmonologist and critical care physician, performing inpatient and outpatient consultations, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with pulmonary disease and sleep disorders teaching medical students and supervising residents, fellows, and nurse practitioners. This position is a key medical staff appointment as selected by the medical staff and administration of the Boise VA Medical Center. It requires knowledge in all facets of Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care. The position may require participation in regular meetings, committees and boards as deemed appropriate by the Chief of Staff and/or Associate Chief of Staff - Medicine.
