Full description

Job Description
The Divisions of Cardiovascular Medicine and Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCS) at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) seek an experienced board-certified or board-eligible Cardiologist or Pulmonary/Critical Care specialist with expertise in Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) to lead our expanding Pulmonary Hypertension Section as an ongoing joint venture between these two Division within the Department of Internal Medicine. The OSU pulmonary hypertension program is a highly regarded, multidisciplinary, large-volume program that serves Central Ohio. Team members provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients with all forms of pulmonary hypertension, as well as patients with a history of acute and/or chronic pulmonary embolism. Highlights of the program include a multidisciplinary team approach, trainees from both cardiology and pulmonary/critical care programs, a CTEPH program that offers both surgical pulmonary endarterectomy and balloon pulmonary angioplasty, and an integrated clinical research team that supports both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies. The Pulmonary Hypertension program is supported by dedicated APPs and nurse coordinators, research coordinators, and pharmacists. This position focuses on continued program growth and the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and longitudinal management of patients with Pulmonary Hypertension. The successful candidate will have advanced training and expertise in the diagnostic evaluation and evidence-based treatment approaches to pulmonary hypertension. Right heart catheterization training a plus but not necessary. This position will contribute to the continued growth and advancement of a multidisciplinary Pulmonary Hypertension program within a nationally recognized cardiovascular service line. In addition to leading the PH section, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to non-PH clinical services in cardiology or pulmonary/critical care, as appropriate for their background.

Requirements
  • MD or DO
  • Completed Fellowship and Board Certification in either cardiovascular disease or pulmonary and critical care medicine.
  • Additional training or demonstrated clinical expertise in Pulmonary Hypertension or Pulmonary Vascular Disease.
  • Eligible for an Ohio License
  • Experience with clinical trials is necessary; extramural research funding is desirable
  • Qualify for an academic appointment at The Ohio State University Academic rank and salary will be commensurate
with previous training and experience, but we anticipate that the successful candidate will qualify for appointment at
an advanced rank (Associate Professor or Professor, with or without tenure) in the Department of Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine
