About the Adult Intensivist Position Dell Medical School is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Critical Care Physician to join the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. The successful candidate will help shape a high-performing, multidisciplinary team delivering post-operative care to adult patients undergoing advanced cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. This is a unique opportunity to practice in a state-of-the-art CVSICU, collaborate with top-tier faculty, and participate in academic pursuits in a thriving, mission-driven environment. Responsibilities Deliver expert care to critically ill cardiovascular and thoracic surgical patients in the CVSICU. Collaborate closely with surgical and critical care teams in a multidisciplinary, team-based model. Participate in bedside teaching, simulation, and didactics for medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers. Engage in research and scholarly activity (clinical, translational, health services, or basic science). Contribute to departmental governance, academic programming, and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications Required MD or DO from an accredited institution. Board certified or eligible in critical care medicine (anesthesiology, internal medicine, or surgery-based pathway). Fellowship training completion in critical care medicine. Eligible for unrestricted Texas medical license prior to start date. Demonstrated experience managing complex cardiovascular ICU patients. Strong procedural skills and clinical judgment. Outstanding communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities. Commitment to academic excellence and clinical innovation.
