Physician, Cardiothoracic Transplant Surgeon, Miami, Florida, Full-Time Baptist Health Medical Group (BHMG), part of Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF), the largest healthcare organization in the South Florida region with medical practices spanning from Key West to Palm Beach, is seeking to employ a Cardiothoracic Transplant Surgeon to join a well-established program at its Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, part of Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care. The team is comprised of fellowship-trained experts across all heart and vascular specialties and provides minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluate and manage patients with end-stage heart failure referred for heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support therapies. Perform adult heart transplantation procedures. Perform implantation, exchange, and explantation of ventricular assist devices (LVAD, RVAD, BiVAD) and other advanced mechanical circulatory support devices. Perform complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery, and other cardiac surgeries as appropriate. Provide perioperative and postoperative management of transplant and cardiac surgical patients. Participate in donor organ procurement and allocation activities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary heart failure and transplant teams in patient selection and management decisions. Serve in rotational call coverage for cardiothoracic surgery services.
