Maintain a professional relationship with clinical service providers within the outpatient center and NJ VAHCS and screen consultative and procedural requests for relevance to care Providing care in a cardiology outpatient clinic (new consultations and follow-up care) and answering e-consultation Perform and interpret studies such as exercise stress tests, ECHO stress tests, dobutamine echo stress tests, ambulatory ECG monitoring, resting ECG, and resting echocardiogram Maintain detailed notes of appointments with patients, including diagnoses, comments, tests, and/or treatments prescribed, and test results Prescribe medication to treat heart and/or cardiovascular disease and provide support and advice to Veteran patients receiving long-term care Provide supervisory oversight of the clinical care on the ambulatory clinic of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants as appropriate Participate in VA performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives, ensuring ongoing compliance Participate in and attend CME activities and VA continuing educational activities Contribute to the supervision and teaching of house staff and other trainees assigned to the unit as appropriate U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
