Minimum Education Requirements Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. Fellowship training in cardiology (may be preferred depending on the position). License & Certifications Board certification in cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA.
