Additional Job Description: West Virginia University School of Medicine , Department of Pediatrics is seeking a BE/BC Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist who can participate in both General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. The successful candidate will join our growing Division of Pediatric Cardiology and will support our patient population on the Children's Hospital campus and throughout the state through our robust pediatric cardiology outreach program that includes outreach clinics, telemedicine clinics and outreach diagnostic testing. We currently have specialists in the areas of general cardiology, advanced imaging (cardiac CT & cardiac MRI), interventional catheterization, noninvasive and invasive electrophysiology, fetal cardiology, adult congenital heart disease, cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), cardio-obstetrics, and preventive cardiology. We have a robust and successful Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery program including complex neonatal repairs, adult congenital surgery, and ECMO. It is the only pediatric heart surgery program in the state. We have an ACGME approved Pediatric Cardiology training program. Duties: The successful candidate will practice in all areas of Pediatric Interventional Cardiology and participate in both General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, he or she will be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a state medical license. Candidates must be board certified / eligible in Pediatric Cardiology. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. WVU Medicine Golisano Children's Hospital is a tertiary care center for the state of West Virginia, Western Maryland, Southwestern Pennsylvania, as well as Southeastern Ohio. Our new 150 bed Children's Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, a Heart Institute, and a dedicated Cancer Institute. WVU Medicine Children's is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. The Women's Pavilion houses a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. WVU Medicine Golisano Children's Hospital is the only children's hospital in the state to have an epilepsy monitoring unit and the only children's hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.
