Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - Please see below.
The Orlando VA Healthcare System is seeking a candidate with skills in General Urologic Surgery. The candidate also provides a variety of services including pre-operative patient exam and assessment and performs all aspects of Adult Urological Surgery including treatment of lesions, biopsies, urological laser procedures, enucleating, stent insertion, prostate, penile and bladder surgery. The provider will perform urology-related direct patient care in all functional areas of the OR, ICU, ward, and clinic settings as needed, to include on-call coverage. The incumbent may also be involved in program planning, objectives, policies, and standards essential to delivery of quality urological care. Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform history and physical examinations, diagnose, prepare treatment plans and manage patients with complex illnesses of the genitourinary system Surgery on the genitourinary system Resection/repair of ureter, bladder, urethra, prostate, and external genitalia Cystoscopy with or without biopsy fulguration, stone destruction/removal, urethrotomy Placement, Revision and Removal of Male or Female slings or mesh-Placement, Revision and Removal of Penile Prosthesis Ureteroscopy and Pyeloscopy Neuromodulation via percutaneous or implanted device with fluoroscopic guidance VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
