Full description

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking Board Eligible/Board Certified Emergency Medicine physicians to join Vanderbilt’s growing regional emergency medicine team serving Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital and Vanderbilt Emergency Sango. We are looking for clinicians who are patient-centered, team-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional emergency care in a community setting supported by the resources of Vanderbilt Health. 

We are currently accepting applications for candidates seeking 2027 start dates, with some positions beginning as early as February 1, 2027. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide high-quality emergency care primarily at Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital and Vanderbilt Emergency Sango 
  • Clinical effort is based on 1440 hours annually (120 hours/month) 
  • Collaborate with VUMC-based specialists to support efficient consultation, transfer, and continuity of care when higher levels of specialty care are needed 
  • Participate in professional development and educational opportunities available through VUMC 

Site Information:  

  • EMR: Currently Cerner with planned transition to Epic this Fall 
  • 10-hour shifts with 60 hours of MD coverage at Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital 
    • 40 hours of APP support at Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital  
  • 32 hours of MD coverage with 40 hours of APP coverage at Vanderbilt Sango ED  

Qualifications 

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine 
  • Strong clinical skills and a demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment 
  • Interest in community-based emergency medicine within an academic health system network
