Full description
The Department of Emergency Medicine at UCSF Fresno is recruiting core Ultrasound Fellowship faculty to join our EUFAC-accredited Advanced Emergency Ultrasonography Fellowship Training Program. Additional responsibilities include supervision of the residency ultrasound curriculum, which features a foundational ultrasound rotation in the PGY-1 year and an advanced rotation in the PGY-4 year. Faculty also participate in regular development sessions and quality assurance (QA) review of resident scans.
The ultrasound division is actively working to establish transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and speckle tracking echocardiography capabilities. Current departmental equipment includes five Sonosite Xportes and three BK3500s. Our ultrasound management and QA platform is Fujifilm Synchronicity.
Candidates must be board certified in Emergency Medicine and have completed or be on track to complete an ultrasound fellowship by the time of hire. A Focused Practice Designation (FPD) in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography is preferred. Candidates must also hold or be eligible for a California medical license.
The program is based in Fresno, California—a city that offers a high standard of living with a low cost of living, resulting in a uniquely Californian yet surprisingly affordable quality of life. Limitless recreational opportunities and stunning scenery are paired with abundant affordable housing. While Fresno itself has much to offer, it is also ideally located for quick getaways to the Sierra Nevada (just 90 minutes away) and the Central Coast (just 2.5 hours away). It is the only major U.S. city in close proximity to three national parks, including Yosemite National Park. Fresno is also within driving distance of San Francisco (3 hours) and Los Angeles (3.5 hours), making it easy to enjoy the culture, cuisine, and nightlife of both cities.
