The Urologic Staff Surgeon routinely performs outpatient and inpatient Urologic surgery examinations, determines diagnoses, and initiates treatments based on Urologic surgery education and standards of care. Position duties for an Urologic Staff Surgeon at VA Phoenix include but are not limited to the following: Diagnose and treat medical and surgical disorders using the most appropriate techniques in providing quality care. Responsible for initial evaluation and overall workups, history & physicals, and admission of Urologic surgery patients as needed. Clinical duties include but are not limited to Operating Room (experience in wide variety of standard Urologic surgical procedures and operations including cystoscopy and fiberoptic cystoscopy), in-patient rounds, Emergency Room and Outpatient Clinics. The Urologic surgeon will be able to perform a wide variety of Urologic surgical procedures. May supervise residents as well as medical students who rotate through the Urologic Surgery Service. Will participate in Urologic surgery night call and perform emergency surgical procedures. Responsible for providing patients with education concerning their disease state and treatment regimen. Will complete all electronic, clinical, daily charting and documentation required by the Medical Center in a timely manner as appropriate. Consult with Medical Center staff on many patient care issues. Other duties as assigned. Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): May be authorized for highly qualified candidates.
