The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seeks a full-time, Board Certified/Eligible Plastic and Reconstructive Microsurgeon. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
Position Overview
The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery seeks to recruit an exceptional and motivated microsurgeon to join our well-established Orthoplastic and Limb Restoration Surgery team. The Department has a high-volume and comprehensive microsurgery program that in addition to complex limb reconstruction includes breast reconstruction, lymphatic surgery, foregut reconstruction, complex trunk reconstruction, and complex calvarial and scalp reconstruction.
Clinical responsibilities will include a major focus on advancing and expanding the department’s complex extremity and orthoplastic reconstruction program in close collaboration with multidisciplinary partners across the health system. With leadership positions available, this team member will play a key role in program development, clinical innovation, and the continued growth of orthoplastic and limb loss services.
The successful candidate will also contribute actively to the department’s academic mission through teaching and mentorship of residents and medical students. Prior experience in contributing to and building multidisciplinary programs is strongly preferred.
Department Overview
The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery has 20 full-time faculty, 5 faculty at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and 10 community faculty who are committed to the tripartite mission of clinical excellence, research and education. Our residency program consists of both integrated and independent pathways. We have 27 residents and 3 fellows (microsurgery and nerve). We are a referral center for central Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky and provide comprehensive Plastic Surgery care at the Wexner Medical Center including University Hospital, East Hospital, The James Comprehensive Cancer Center and the multiple free-standing ambulatory sites of The Ohio State University.
