Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), student loan payment reimbursement program. Must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy & submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply The Manchester VA Medical Center is seeking a part-time Otolaryngologist located within the Surgical Services Department and reports to the Chief of Surgery. The Otolaryngologist is expected to perform all services required in the practice of Otolaryngology in the context of the VA system and his/her clinical privileges; and provide appropriate documentation in the electronic record. The Provider practices independently, using professional judgement and expertise. Duties include but not limited to: Provide a full range of medical, procedural, and surgical care in general Otolaryngology to adult patients. Reviewing medical history and conducting a detailed physical exam. Interpreting laboratory and diagnostic results. Diagnosing Otolaryngology conditions and assisting and/or performing procedures in the operating room and clinical areas. Assessing and treating diseases of the Ear, Nose and Throat and surgical conditions. Performing screening examinations and completing H&P's and progress notes. Performing basic diagnostic procedures. Maintain an active knowledge of the patient care process of the department of Veterans Affairs and knowledge of the medical center records system (CPRS). This shall include using the computerized medical records in a complete and timely manner. The Otolaryngologist is expected to maintain his/her skills at the highest level in all the areas of work which include outpatient clinics. The Otolaryngologist should exercise sensitivity when dealing with patients and their families. Assures physician to physician and physician to nurse communication to ensure smooth receipt or transfer of patients. The Otolaryngologist is expected to attend mandatory meetings and any other meeting or focus group assigned to. Work Schedule: Part Time position, tour of duty will be determined between the Physician and their Supervisor. Pay: Pro rated for part time Paid Time Off: Paid annual leave based on hours worked - accrual starting on your first day Paid annual sick leave based on hours worked - accrual starting on your first day (no limit on accrual) Paid federal holidays dependent on work schedule Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlightingRecruitment/Relocation Incentive: Maybe authorized Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): This position is eligible for the EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program.
