The Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio under the direction of Benjamin Segal, MD, Chair is recruiting a Clinical Neuromuscular Physician to join our growing team. 

Position Overview

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Neuromuscular Disorders Center is internationally recognized for our clinical services. Similar accolades identify our clinical and laboratory based translational research.  Ideal candidates will have academic interest and clinical or laboratory based research interest.  Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Department/Division Overview
The Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) consists of 15 specialized divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. We deliver unparalleled subspecialty care across all neurology disciplines, with services spanning 7 state-of-the-art ambulatory facilities and 3 hospitals. The department operates 27 groundbreaking multidisciplinary and personalized clinics, 3 comprehensive inpatient consultation services, an 18-bed university hospital neurocritical care unit and 12-bed James hospital neuro and surgical critical care unit a 30-bed stroke ward, and an expanding teleneurology service partnering with 7 regional hospitals. Our telestroke network is among the largest in the nation, encompassing 32 affiliated hospitals. Opening in Spring of 2026, the new inpatient tower will include an expansion of the university hospital neurocritical care unit capacity to a 30-bed, state-of-the-art, neurocritical care unit. With over $15.5 million in annual research funding, OSU Neurology is at the forefront of discovering new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for neurological disorders. Our fundamental research portfolio focuses on neurogenetics, neuroimmunology and neuroregenerative medicine. Our pioneering Division of Neurology Health Services Research and Center for the Neurobiology of Aging and Resilience are trailblazers in the field. This year alone, our faculty conducted over 320 clinical trials and studies, supported by a cutting-edge biorepository and brain bank. We're equally committed to education, offering 10 prestigious clinical fellowships and international training opportunities through the OSU Global Neurology Initiative, with partner programs in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. In 2024, our Neurology Residency Program was ranked in the top 15th percentile nationwide on the Doximity Residency Navigator list. At OSUWMC Neurology faculty participate in a vibrant culture that is actively shaping the future of neurological care and research.

Duties and Responsibilities
Faculty responsibilities are consistent with our tripartite mission – patient care, education, and clinical research.  The individual selected for this position will have ample opportunities to contribute to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits. Other duties include but are not limited to representing the program or Department by participating in committees, conferences, and representing OSU at professional meetings and community speaking engagements.

  • MD or DO
  • Successful completion of an accredited Neurology Residency Program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
  • Completion of Neuromuscular Medicine fellowship                                  
  • Eligible for an Ohio Medical License
