About Acute Care Surgery at Hartford Hospital The Acute Care Surgery division provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care across trauma surgery, surgical critical care, and emergency general surgery . Supported by LIFE STAR helicopter EMS service , established in 1985 by Dr. Lenworth Jacobs.
