The Service actively participates in teaching and training of medical students, interns, and residents. Duties included but are not limited to: Privileges to evaluate, diagnose, consult, provide pre, intra- and postoperative surgical care and perform surgical procedures Conditions, illnesses and injuries of the alimentary tract, abdomen and its contents (except as specified in Additional Privileges) Hernia Repair- Breasts, skin and soft tissue (except as specified in Additional Privileges) Head and neck including trauma, endocrine, congenital, and oncologic disorders Insertion and management of chest tubes, central venous catheters and arterial catheters Tracheostomy Paracentesis, thoracentesis Hand surgery for minor infections Use of fluoroscopy equipment (or supervision of other staff using the equipment Diagnostic Laparoscopy Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Herniorrhaphy, and Appendectomy Administration of Moderate Sedation (In accordance with Policy & Directive requirements) Endoscopy procedures Breast biopsy with sonographic guidance Insertion and management of pulmonary artery catheters Vascular Rescue and Stabilization VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
