Full description

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Major Duties: Participates and manages a diverse Dermatology Team that provides comprehensive care to include diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and education of patients with Dermatologic conditions in inpatient/outpatient settings. Documents patient encounters and coding of visits accurately and timely. Evaluates, triage, and prioritize Dermatology consult requests to ensure timely care for patients. Performs excisional or diagnostic skin biopsies and minor skin surgeries. Reviews images from store and forward program to make treatment recommendations or determine urgency of face-to-face evaluations. Supervise providers in the dermatology section, including performance reviews and evaluations; ensuring providers are informed of and adherent to VA policies and procedures. Ensures efficient operations of the dermatology section and dermatology clinics. Advances the clinical, educational and research missions of VA. Participates in multidisciplinary/facility level process improvement teams and workgroups and committees as requested. Coordinates care at VA or non-VA referral centers for patients requiring services not provided at the facility such as MOHS surgery. Completes CME as required to maintain competency in Dermatology, medical licensure and board certification. HIPAA, Privacy and Security and other mandatory VA training in a timely manner. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Must pass pre-employment physical examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
