"Army physician (Captain). 5 day work week. Supervisory role overseeing primary care clinic. Work roughly 50 hrs/wk. Other similar roles are heavy admin but less weekly hours so more opportunity for off duty employment. Pay is low compared to civilian but Tricare covers health insurance. Higher ranking officers that are army physicians will make more comparable pay (240k) with a large portion of this being non-taxable. Have opportunities to do all the fun army things that no other physician would get the opportunity to do (Airborne school, special operations, Flight Surgery, etc) "
Fort Stewart, Georgia3 years50 hrs/wk$170k
"It's allright, we do 1 week on (7 days ~12-14h/day plus on-call 1/3), then 7 days off, so I do get 26 weeks out of the year off where I could do private practice or emergency locum. I also take in addition 3 weeks of PTO"
Maine1 years91 hrs/wk$390k
"With the demands of patient care, it can be challenging to disconnect completely from work. However, I've learned to set boundaries to prevent burnout."
Michigan8 years40 hrs/wk$260k
"Four day work week, every friday off. We do take call 1 week at a time, rotating schedule with a group so usually only 4-6 call weeks per year. The one big downside currently is I do commute 35-50 minutes depending on the office I work at. "

"Work life balance great right out of residency in a low cost of living place in Louisiana. "
